The Portsmouth Sports Club held its November Meeting at Elizabeth Manor Country Club. Mahlon Parker presented a check from the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in the amount of $1000 to the Sports Club Foundation to provide scholarships for needy students. The guest speaker was Harry Minium, longtime sports journalist for the Virginian-Pilot, who presented an overview of collegiate and professional sports. The Sports Club Jamboree, to be held on March 2, 2019, will honor male and female high school athletes of the year as well as the high school coach of the year.
